UTHM’s Commitment to Promoting Health and Well-Being for All

Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) is strongly committed to Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3): Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. UTHM recognises that a healthy university environment is essential for academic excellence, productivity, and community sustainability.

To support this, UTHM implements a wide range of health and well-being initiatives, including:

  • Campus Health Services – Through Pusat Kesihatan Universiti (PKU), UTHM offers accessible medical and dental care to students and staff, covering preventive care, treatment, and health screenings.
  • Mental Health Awareness and Counselling – UTHM provides psychological support services and regularly runs awareness campaigns to reduce stigma and support mental well-being, especially among students.
  • Healthy Campus Initiatives – The university promotes active lifestyles through infrastructure like pedestrian walkways, bicycle lanes, sports facilities, and health campaigns such as "Healthy Campus, Healthy Community."
  • COVID-19 Response & Public Health Readiness – UTHM demonstrated resilience during the pandemic by setting up quarantine centres, offering vaccination support, and integrating health protocols across campus operations.
  • Collaborative Health Education and Research – UTHM contributes to the national health agenda by engaging in health-related research and collaborations that address non-communicable diseases (NCDs), public health, occupational safety, and environmental health.

Through its integrated approach to physical, mental, and social well-being, UTHM supports the creation of a healthy, safe, and supportive environment for its campus community and beyond.
